Your account and family preferences
Offline Dad stores your email address when you sign in using an email code. A random guest identifier lets you use the app without signing in. Family information you choose to provide, including child names and ages, activity preferences, saved ideas, intentions, and trip history, is stored with your account so it can be available on the web and iPhone.
The iPhone stores its sign-in credential in the device Keychain. The web companion stores its credential and preferences in this browser. Sign out on a shared device to remove that local account access.
Location and calendar access
Location is optional. The iPhone sends rounded coordinates to help estimate distance and rank nearby ideas. Requests can be associated with your app account. Without location access, ideas use Austin as the starting area.
Calendar permission is requested when you choose to add an idea. Saving an idea for later does not require calendar access.
Service providers and analytics
Offline Dad uses Supabase to store app data, Vercel to host its services, and Resend to deliver sign-in codes and requested plan emails. Recommendations use public event listings, weather providers, and venue information. Opening an outside link uses that provider’s own privacy practices.
The app records usage events with PostHog. The website also uses PostHog, Google Analytics, and Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand visits and feature use. Do not put sensitive personal information into free-text fields. Shared recommendation links are public, so anyone with the link can read the idea.
Your choices and deletion
You can remove saved ideas, update your preferences, or sign out in the app and web companion. To delete your Offline Dad account and its associated app data, use Delete account & data on the web or Delete account in iPhone Settings. Deletion requires confirmation.
